Consider Fair Trade Coffee

Fair trade coffee is a type of coffee that is made differently than the coffee beans most companies use. However, the fair trade coffee is also a high quality product that makes a great cup of coffee. What fair trade coffee does differently is ensure that the farmers who grow and harvest the coffee beans are paid well and treated as fairly as possible.

Americans drink a lot of coffee each year. Many people can’t even imagine starting the day without a cup of java. However, most of them don’t even think about how the coffee is grown, produced, and shipped around the world. Americans just like to drink it and get a jump on the day. Fair trade coffee helps promote fair treatment for the people who grow and produce coffee.

Many of these coffee farmers have been treated very unfairly. Fair trade coffee is only produced on plantations that treat workers fairly and respect their rights. The fair trade coffee companies must meet specific requirements and the work conditions must be safe. The compensation levels must also be fair for their work.

Fair trade coffee also helps people find quality products that were made under good working conditions. The whole focus of the company is on social and economic justice for the coffee farmers. If the company is not treating its workers fairly, it is not certified as a free trade coffee producer. Many of these workers work in terrible conditions and are not paid very fairly at all. This means they can’t support themselves and their families.

Many people decide to spend their money on fair trade coffee so that their money is supporting fair trade and fairer treatment for workers.
